Annual Service | Clifton Norse Church

All are welcome to the annual service held for the oldest Adventist Church in the Texas Conference | October 13, 2018
The Norse Seventh-day Adventist Church, the oldest standing Adventist church in the Texas Conference, invites you to its 35th annual church service at 10:00 am on Sabbath, October 13, 2018. Following the church service, there will be a potluck lunch. Chuck wagon chefs will prepare fresh cobbler on site for the potluck dessert. A children’s activity has been added this year. They will enjoy stories told by a Native American in a teepee setting.
The featured speaker this year is Ron Halvorsen, Jr. He is no stranger to this area. Having served in the past as senior pastor of the Keene Church, he and his wife, Buffy, are known by many. He is currently president of the Ohio Conference. In addition to serving as a pastor, Halvorsen has been a college professor, hosted radio and television ministries, and published his writings in Guide and Ministry magazines.
The Brazos Chorus, a Christian community choir under the direction of Maestro David Anavitarte, will be our musical guests. The Brazos Chorus performs at churches, community events, and presents seasonal concerts. The mission of the chorus is to bring spiritual and physical healing through music.
The Norse Church in Clifton is about a 90-minute drive from Keene. From Keene, find State Hwy 174 in Cleburne and take it south through Meridian. Turn right through town to Hwy 6. Turn left on Hwy 6 for about eight miles toward Clifton. Turn right on FM 2136 and travel about three miles and turn left on CR 4155 and drive about a mile. The church is located on the left.
Those wanting to ride horses before the church service will meet in Keene at 6:00 am and head to a ranch near the Norse Church. The group will take a 30-minute trail ride to the church.
