Clifton Norse Church Annual Service

Yddo Ortiz

Once a year, dedicated individuals gather at the former Norse Seventh-day Adventist Church in Clifton, Texas, to honor its history as the oldest standing Seventh-day Adventist Church in Texas.

The 34th annual church service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Sabbath, October 14, 2017.  Following the church service, there will be a potluck lunch. Chuck wagon chefs will prepare fresh cobbler on site for the potluck dessert.

Carlos Craig, president of the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, is the featured speaker for the church service.  Local bluegrass musicians will present a concert.

The Norse Church is about a 90-minute drive from Keene, Texas. From Keene, find State Hwy 174 in Cleburne and take it south through Meridian. Turn right through town to Hwy 6. Turn left on Hwy 6 for about eight miles toward Clifton. Turn right on FM 2136. Travel about three miles then turn left on CR 4155 and drive about a mile. The church is located on the left.

Those wanting to ride horses before the church service will meet in Keene at 6:00 am and head to a ranch near the Norse Church. The group will take a 30-minute trail ride to the church.

If you have questions, contact Yddo Ortiz at 817.517.4650.

The 2018 service is scheduled for October 13, 2018.

My wife and I along with some friends from conroe church went to the service a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. I was wondering when the scheduled service for 2019 is going to be held
