Sharing Christ in the Marketplace

Pat Humphrey | ASi Southwest Chapter President

Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries, better known as ASi, is a diverse organization comprised of lay people who are entrepreneurs, professionals and ministry leaders from all walks of life.

While ASI is comprised of a diverse group of people, its members have one thing in common: a passion for Sharing Christ in the Marketplace. ASi members help carry out the evangelistic mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through supporting ministries and projects that seek to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people, both at home and abroad. At its annual convention, ASi raises funds to support worthy projects with a focus on health, community outreach and evangelism.

Having roots in Madison, Tennessee, ASi has expanded over the past 70-plus years to an international organization with eight local chapters in North America and numerous chapters in Europe, Asia, Africa and South and Inter-America (and the list is growing).

Each year ASi hosts an international convention—this year’s will be held July 31-August 3, 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky. Each chapter also hosts a spring convention in its local territory. The Southwestern Union Chapter, which spans the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico, holds its annual spring convention in March.

ASi conventions provide attendees with a wonderful way to network and fellowship with people who have a passion for sharing their faith, to be inspired with powerful preaching and informative workshops and to hear exciting testimonies of how God is using ASi members to share Christ in their workplaces and communities.

This year’s Southwest Chapter convention will be held in Cleburne, Texas, March 14-17, 2019, and ASi membership is not necessary to attend. For more information and to register for the event (early bird rates remain in effect until March 7, 2019), visit asisw.org.
