The Oaks Students Sing National Anthem for Sports Teams

Students of The Oaks Adventist Christian School were recently privileged to sing The National Anthem at both a Houston Rockets game, and a Houston Astros game.
James Friesen, Athletic Director at The Oaks, arranged for the performances as a way to motivate not only his sports team members, but other students, teachers, and parents as well.
Choir students stated that they were nervous to perform at such large arenas, but also said that it was one of the highlights of their year! One student remarked after the baseball game that it would be “so cool” if someone at the game heard them sing, came to attend The Oaks, and eventually met Jesus and was saved in His kingdom. A mission to reach the world is the ULTIMATE goal of Christian education. “Growing Leaders who Follow Christ” is not just our motto here at The Oaks, it’s what we strive to instill in each one of the students God has blessed us with each and every day.
